The Spring ’24 Salesforce release is almost live (the anticipated release date is May 10th), but while we wait, Salesforce has provided us with some sneak peeks into what we can expect. Below we’ve listed a few new features that we are excited to try out.
Reports and Dashboard Enhancements
In the past, it was necessary to clone or recreate dashboards when ownership changed. However, now you have the convenience of transferring Lightning dashboards from one user to another, either individually or in bulk, when a user leaves the company. Additionally, notifying the new owner via email is a simple and straightforward process.
Everyone receives a rich text and image widget! Yes, that’s right – rich text and image widgets are now available for all editions! Utilize these widgets to showcase your company logo, GIFs, descriptive text, and charts, enriching your dashboards to inform, guide, and engage your users. Dashboards can accommodate up to 25 widgets, with a maximum allocation of 20 charts and tables, two images, and 25 rich text widgets.
App Building Enhancements
No longer do you have to navigate between record pages or create formula fields to reference related object data. With the introduction of the new cross-object fields feature in Dynamic Forms, you can now conveniently place fields up to two levels away from related objects on the same Lightning record page. It’s important to note that cross-object fields on Dynamic Forms-enabled pages are only viewable.
Adding cross-object fields is a breeze in App Builder. Simply navigate to the component palette, click the > next to the lookup relationship field, and drag the cross-object field onto the canvas in Lightning App Builder. In the Fields tab, you’ll see a breadcrumb indicating the field’s relationship to the original object.
AI Enhancements
You might be curious about the artificial intelligence (AI) features that have been discussed at events like Dreamforce, World Tours, or other Salesforce presentations. While they’re not quite available yet, they’re on their way very soon. Here are some AI features slated for the Spring ’24 Release:
- Einstein can now explain formulas to you!
- You can build prompts to generate emails or populate fields with Prompt Builder.
- You can also ground those prompts with data from Flow.
